Who's the Boss?
You lead with your nose as you click and you clatter, Then freeze so quickly analyzing the matter, It's just another set of flowers to smell, Every sniff a memory and your brain a well. You pull this chain with intention and sheesh! It's morning, I'm groggy. I just give you more leash. You stop and turn like you're calling the manager But I'm the boss here as I pet your soft fur. Our daily morning dance, always turns into a war You always want more, and think you're so hard-core. The block is rounded our ritual is at an end Now it's time together to find out what's around the bend.
Wings of Whimsy
Buzz buzz buzz he flits on by Zipping from one flower to another He always tends to catch my dog's eye As we take a morning stroll together. A medicine card told me they are joy, They have a way of making me smile, Moving about like an atomic toy, Pollinating flowers, all the while. He zips up and hovers above my dome, Says hi and continues to roam.
That Damn Five
Stuck looking down the endless five Hand, searching for a fictitious smoke I need another action to keep me alive So I took a sip of the bottle of Diet Coke. Eyelids getting heavy, wanting to sleep The podcast isn't getting it done On music, I tap shuffle taking a leap And there's the song about the one. She thawed this guy's ice cold heart I can't remember, is this feeling fun? The song revisits the long dormant part The section of my chest, full of glee. It was worth it, to feel soreness is the fee.
A Haiku
The weight of those eyes Ticks like a soft furry clock The treats in the bowl
